They say you can judge how well a festival is run by the state of their portapotties. Lucky for 4-peaks, this theory turns out to be a myth. I’m still not sure why it made sense to hit the road with the band last weekend, when there are still about six million and five loose ends to wrap up around meltdown. but why should they have all the fun?

You would think a new stage plot, a drum riser to himself, an old band with new songs, and a crowd screaming his name might make a guy a bit nervous. I have often marveled at how a crowd of people can find the room to groove and move in a totally synchronous way despite the obvious lack of space. Short first set to get the crowd warmed up . . . that took like 30 seconds. I used up my beer tickets in about the same amount of time.
